Transparent-bodied rainforest frog
Glass frogs (family Centrolenidae) are named for their translucent abdominal skin, which allows internal organs such as the heart, liver, and digestive system to be visible. They are primarily found in Central and South American rainforests. Most species live in trees near streams and rivers. Males often guard egg clutches laid on leaves above water, ensuring the tadpoles can drop into streams after hatching. Their transparency provides camouflage when viewed from below.
